How to Remove GelMoment Gel Polish

  1. To protect the skin and nail and provide added moisture, begin by applying either GelMoment Moisturizing Nail Oil or Regenerating Cuticle Serum to the base of each nail.

  2. Grab a GelMoment Remover pad, and tear across the top on the dotted line.

Open to reveal the moistened pad inside, and insert your finger under the pad, so the nail is pressed against it.

  3. Remove the plastic strip covering the adhesive on the outside of the pouch. Tightly wrap the remover pad around your nail, using the adhesive strip to hold it on good and tight. I also fold the end over the tips of my fingers for a nice tight seal!

  4. For the best removal results, apply a GelMoment remover clip to each fingernail to keep the remover pad nice and tight!

  5. Leave the remover pads on for between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on your nail type.  My recommendation is to check the polish after 5 minutes to see if it’s ready to push off. If you soak too long, the polish begins to harden again as the remover blend evaporates, making removal more difficult. In some cases, the polish will begin to flake up. In others, it will just soften.

  6. Using the GelMoment cuticle pusher, gently push the gel polish off the nail plate. If any spots are stubborn, simply reapply the GelMoment remover pad for another minute or so. Do not press hard or attempt to scrape polish that hasn’t softened. You will cause damage to your nail! (Pro tip: remove just one finger at a time. Don’t take off all of the remover pads at once. Remove as you work on each nail.)

After scraping the top coat off. I had multiple coats of polish and nail art on this nail, so it needs another minute or two in the remover packet!

After scraping the softened polish. Repeat soaking/scraping until all polish is removed from the nail plate without gouging the nail plate itself.

  7. After soaking and scraping again, you may find there are some stubborn spots. This typically will occur at the nail tip, as this is the driest part of your nail (Consistent use of our nail oils/serums will help prevent this)! If needed, you can *gently* use the GelMoment Nail File on the polish to help the remover penetrate, and soak again for a minute or two. Take care NOT to file the nail plate.

Gently scrape the polish from the nail plate.

  8. When you’re finished scraping the GelMoment gel polish from the nail plate, give your nails a light, quick buff with the soft spongy side of the GelMoment Nail File. This will remove any staining or polish remnants you missed with the cuticle pusher.

  9. Voila! Polish free nails. Now on to trim, shape, and file them up!

  10. Trimmed, shaped, and generously oiled.  Let the oil soak in and if needed, apply one of our GelMoment Nail Spa products prior to your next GelMoment manicure!

I typically will wait a day before applying a new manicure just to give my nails time to really soak in some moisture. Oil them liberally and often between manicures!
